ST. LOUIS - Akis Medrano and Alli Workman have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Teams, the Valley announced Tuesday morning.
Scholar-Athlete honors require athletes to meet performance standards, as they must finish among the first 20 runners at the conference championship and hold at least a cumulative 3.2 GPA and be a sophomore in athletic and academic standing to earn a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete team.
Akis Medrano earned All-Valley honors at the MVC Championships in Peoria last Saturday by placing third in the men's 8K race with the third-best time in school history of 24:06.
