Turner helps USA dominate Japan in 98-45 victory

It didn’t take long for Team USA to establish themselves as the dominant team in Thursday’s matchup with Japan.

The began the game on a 13-0 run, leaving no doubt that they were the superior team.

Myles Turner, who started at center again, contributed with 2 points, 4 rebounds and a block during that run.

Turner ended the game with 3 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 18 minutes. The game served as a much-needed rest for the big man after playing 28 minutes against USA’s dogfight against Turkey on Tuesday.

Brook Lopez and Mason Plumlee, who have not seen a lot of crucial minutes at center during group play, saw an increase in minutes due to the blowout.
