Report: Wesley Matthews to sign with Pacers after release by Knicks

According to Shams, the Pacers will sign Wesley Matthews after his release by the New York Knicks. Matthews was part of the Porzingis deal and since the Knicks value losing and cap space above all else this season, they released the wing player.

Obviously, the Pacers can use all of the scoring help they can find after suffering the loss of Victor Oladipo. Matthews spent several years with the Portland Trail Blazers, initially playing under Nate McMillan in McMillan’s final season as coach, so his ability to fit in with the Pacers culture has been vetted.
