Paul George’s MVP Campaign Begins In Earnest

Paul George has stepped up his game after a slow start and it has shown in the Indiana Pacers record (now at 5-4 after an 0-3 start) as well as his own stat line.

And it looks like people outside of Indiana’s fan base are starting to take notice.

NBA.com’s Sekou Smith put Paul George in his MVP rankings at the No. 10 spot thanks to his recent streak of games where he’s averaged over 25 points a game.

George’s recent 30-point tear — he averaged 31.7 points during a three-game stretch against the Heat, Cavaliers and Magic — was an excellent reminder of exactly what he’s capable of as a potentially elite scorer, were that his main focus.
