On Opening Night presented by Kroger, second-year Pacers forward and five-year NBA veteran Doug McDermott hosted a personal meet-and-greet with 15 breast cancer survivors from Ascension St. Vincent Health.
After completing a six-point performance including 2-of-3 shooting from beyond the 3-point line against the Detroit Pistons, the Creighton alum took time to meet with each survivor and share his support for the cause. He took photos with all the survivors in attendance.
"You know, it's something I've always wanted to get involved in," he said. "I've kind of, bounced around a little — so it's been hard to have one place as home and know where I'm going to be in October.
