Q. Do you draft for need or best player available?

A. This is an annual question from fans, and an annual dilemma for teams. I'll give my annual answer.
I'm always on the side of best player. At times you might be considering a couple of players who you rate equally, in which case you go with need if they play different positions. But if you consider one player clearly to be the most talented of the available lot, you take him regardless. If you wind up overloaded at that position, you can deal with that later via trade.
