Nobody, not even the Indiana Pacers front office, knew what Thaddeus Young was going to do with his player option this summer.
In the end, he chose to opt into his deal and return for a final season with the Indiana Pacers. Apparently, $13 million was too much to pass up for the veteran forward.
The Pacers have to be happy that Young opted in. Thad would have surely liked an extension that gave him financial security long-term, but now Indiana gets one of their best players locked up for one more season on an expiring contract.
