When the Indiana Pacers selected Alize Johnson with the 50th pick in the 2018 NBA draft, nobody really knew what to think. Second round picks are rarely well-known players, and Johnson went to a mid-major school. He was a mystery.
Then summer league came and went, and the Alize hype train picked up a ton of passengers. Johnson showed an endless motor and a solid feel for the game that culminated with him posting a stat line of 12.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. It was summer league, but those stats are solid.
They were also good enough to earn Johnson a two-year contract with the Indiana Pacers.
