The Indiana Pacers already lost one valuable asset for nothing in free agency last year when Myles Turner joined the Milwaukee Bucks. It's not the exact same situation, but given Bennedict Mathurin's impending restricted free agency (and the team's reported desire to land an upgrade at center), his days in Indiana might be numbered.
The Pacers may have to trade Bennedict Mathurin
It's easy to look at Mathurin's free agency and sort of just assume he's going to stick around if Indiana doesn't trade him. Since he's going to be a restricted free agent, the team can match any offer he gets from an opposing team and have the final say in where he stays or not.
