The Indiana Pacers have the No. 11 pick in the NBA Draft, and there has been a lot of clutter to sort through as to their plans with the pick. Here are three rumors you need to know:
Frank Kaminsky A Top Target?
Wisconsin big man Frank Kaminsky has a lot of suitors late in the lottery, and Indiana plans to seriously consider him with their pick.
“We have seen him play a number of times; we followed his career,’’ team president Larry Bird said. “He’s a hell of a player. He’s come a long way in two years. I’m pretty proud of him for the work he has put it. It looks like the type of kid who is going to keep working and get better.’
“He has a good, all-around game. He doesn’t play at a fast pace, but he can get what he wants to get. He shoots it good enough to set guys up. And, on the defensive end, he’s long. He’s a presence.’’
Fast-Rising Point Guard Cameron Payne On Indiana's Radar
One prospect that has caught Indiana's eye is Murray State point guard Cameron Payne, who is quickly rising up draft board across the league.
“We followed him all year,” Pacers’ president of basketball operations Larry Bird said. “We know he can shoot it, he can drive it. He’s a playmaker. His size is against him a little bit but he’s a nice little player. He didn’t play against top schools but that doesn’t mean he can’t play.”
Larry Bird Pays Draft Prospect Willie Cauley-Stein A "$100 Million" Compliment
Former Kentucky Wildcats big man Willie Cauley-Stein is projected to land somewhere in the top ten of the 2015 NBA Draft, if not the top five. According to team president Larry Bird, he’s well worth it and is hoping he somehow falls to the Pacers at 11.
