Bezerra powers men’s soccer to season-opening victory
The belated start to the 2020-21 soccer season was worth the wait for Victor Bezerra. The sophomore forward scored a first-half brace in Friday’s match against Wisconsin to lead the No. 7 Hoosiers to a 3-0 win at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.
Though he started his day with a miss from the top of the box, Bezerra found the net moments later off of a redirected cross from fellow forward Ryan Wittenbrink in the 39th minute of the opening half.
