John Pelphrey, the head coach for Indiana’s season-opening opponent Tennessee Tech, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Pelphrey’s positive test was reported by Matt Denison, who hosts The Hoosier Report on WXVW in Southern Indiana. Indiana is scheduled to play Tennessee Tech on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
According to Denison, Tennessee Tech assistant coach Marcus King will serve as acting coach on Wednesday.
On his first radio show of the season on Monday night, Indiana coach Archie Miller said he was “crossing his fingers” that Tennessee Tech would make it to Bloomington for the season opener.
