Sommer’s Gem Helps Lead Hoosiers Past Purdue, 2-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team defeated Purdue, 2-1, on Friday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind.

With the team's eighth-straight win, the Hoosiers improve to 8-1 on the season and in Big Ten play. With the loss, the Boilermakers fall to 1-8 on the year and in league play.

KEY MOMENTS
• LHP was again outstanding for the Hoosiers, tossing 6.2 innings, striking out a career-high 12 batters. He allowed just one earned run on two hits.
• Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Hoosiers staged a rally.
