A report on Saturday evening from Sam Amick of The Athletic indicated that Woodson is a “leading candidate” for the top assistant job on the Sacramento staff under Doug Christie.
That was followed by a report Tuesday from KCRA that Woodson is joining the Kings’ new staff.
From the KCRA report:
“Mike Woodson, a former Kings player with NBA head coaching experience, and fan favorite Bobby Jackson, also a former King, who even served previously as an assistant coach with the organization, will be hired as assistant coaches.
“Multiple sources told KCRA 3’s Sean Cunningham that both Woodson and Jackson will join the coaching staff of Doug Christie, who recently signed a multi-year deal with the Kings to be their next head coach.
