OPENING TIP
Indiana University begins its 121st season of competition in men's basketball and opens the doors of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the 50th season. IU is coming off a 79-58 win over Providence in the first round of the Camping World Maui Invitational followed by a loss to Texas on Tuesday. IU is 12-9 all-time in the Maui Invitational. The Hoosiers advanced to the semifinals for the first time since winning the event in 2002. The Texas game was the the first of possibly 15 games against teams ranked in the AP Preseason Poll (Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan State, Texas, North Carolina, Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers, Michigan).
