NOTEBOOK: The 'Dog' in Stephen Carr, Savvy Sanguinetti, Limiting Penalties

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Stephen Carr expects more.

Of course, he does. All competitors push for one extra level, even after a defining performance.

Carr, Indiana's starting running back, and the Hoosiers, are not coming off a defining performance, but it can be a motivating one, for Idaho (1-0) on Saturday night, for No. 7/8 Cincinnati (1-0) the following week, and for everything that's to come.

"I have to run harder," Carr says. "Make my cuts more decisive. Help out with the reads, communicate more on the sideline."

In last Saturday's Iowa loss, Carr got off to a quick 25 yards before holes vanished, the Hawkeye defense stiffened and the Hoosiers played a catch-up game they couldn't win.
