BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - When the Big Ten made the decision to cancel fall sports this past season, IU women's soccer defender Allison Jorden was heartbroken. It was set to be her senior season in a program in its second year under head coach Erwin van Bennekom. Inside the locker room, a culture was brewing. But Jorden and the rest of the program accepted that it was in the best interest and health for everyone to take the fall off. Instead, it gave them an opportunity to improve.
