BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Monroe County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed today (Wednesday, May 2) as IU Women's Basketball Day at its meeting this morning.
The Hoosiers were honored for winning its first Women's National Invitational Tournament championship on March 31. IU defeated Virginia Tech, 65-57, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in front of a program record crowd of 13,007. They finished the season 23-14, tying a school record for wins in a season and won 15 of its last 17 games.
