Leal Wins 2020 IndyStar Mr. Basketball Award, Third Straight Hoosier To Earn Honor

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the first time in school history, an Indiana University men's basketball signee has been named the IndyStar Indiana's Mr. Basketball by media and coaches throughout the state for the third straight year. Bloomington South's Anthony Leal, a 6-5 shooting guard, is the 29th winner of the state's highest individual honor in boy's basketball to pledge to attend IU and joins forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (2019, Center Grove) and guard Romeo Langford (2018, New Albany) as recent winners who went on to play for the Hoosiers. Future teammate Trey Galloway, a 6-3 shooting guard from the Culver Academies, also was among five finalists for the award.
