BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Longtime supporter of IU Rowing and IU Athletics, Dale England, passed away in Cleveland on Friday, April 19 after a long illness.
In his name, the Dale England Rowing Center was constructed in 2015. With his support, the facility was upgraded to a 10,000 square foot building on Lake Lemon that holds the team's boats and equipment. His interest with the program began when his daughter Becky was a coxswain from 2000-03 and a boat was dedicated in her honor in 2005.
"Dale was not only a very close personal friend, but he was a good friend to our team and the whole athletic department," IU Rowing head coach Steve Peterson said.
