IU Roundup: Mullen earns First Team All-America honors

Media members really, really like Indiana corner Tiawan Mullen.

Two weeks after the sophomore landed on the media’s All-Big Ten first team, the Football Writers Association of America announced Wednesday that Mullen is one of four defensive backs nationwide to receive its First Team All-America honor. In doing so, Mullen became the first IU corner in program history to receive first-team All-America recognition.

Mullen, a second-team All-Big Ten selection by the league’s coaches, is just the second cornerback (Tim Wilbur, 1980 second team) in Indiana history to achieve All-America status, and the first Hoosier since offensive lineman Dan Feeney (2015, 2016) to be awarded first-team distinction.
