IU Mourns Loss of Larry Highbaugh

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Former Indiana football and track and field star Larry Highbaugh passed away Tuesday evening after complications from surgery earlier in the day. Highbaugh was 67.

A defensive back, Highbaugh was a member of the 1967 Big Ten championship team that faced Southern California in the 1968 Rose Bowl.

He played briefly with the Dallas Cowboys and spent 13 years in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Highbaugh was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2004.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Highbaugh family," IU head football coach Tom Allen said.
