IU basketball’s Aleksa Ristic scores 11 points in FIBA U20 Eurobasket 2025 opener

The 6-foot-4 Ristic scored 11 points in 27 minutes as Serbia beat Iceland 90-76. Ristic was 3-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.

He dished out a team-high seven assists and added a rebound while committing two turnovers. Serbia was +14 with Ristic on the floor.

“Aleksa is a versatile guard that can play on and off the ball,” IU coach Darian DeVries said last week in a release announcing the signing of Ristic. “He is a competitive kid that has high-level experience playing in FIBA events. We think he has the ability to handle the basketball and make plays out of the pick-and-roll while also being an efficient shooter that will add tremendous depth to our backcourt.
