Indiana Track & Field Mourns The Loss Of Caitlin Engel

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana track & field program is saddened by the death of former Indiana distance runner Caitlin Engel who lost a long-fought battle with cancer.

32-year-old Engel was a resident of Carmel, Ind. where she worked as a teacher and cross country/track & field coach in the Carmel Clay School System.

"Caitlin was a walk on who made the most of her time at Indiana as a contributing member of our cross country and track and field teams." Head Coach Ron Helmer said. "She was a joy to coach and to just be around every day.
