Indiana men's basketball will begin the 2025-26 season unranked in the AP poll

The Associated Press released its first top 25 basketball poll this week and Indiana is unranked, only receiving one vote in the preseason rankings.

Purdue is No. 1 with 35 first-place votes, followed by Houston, defending national champion Florida, 2023 and 2024 champ Connecticut, St. John’s and Duke.

Six Big Ten teams made the top 25: No. 1 Purdue, No. 7 Michigan, No. 12 UCLA, No. 17 Illinois, No. 22 Michigan State and No. 24 Wisconsin. Along with Indiana, five others received votes in Oregon (98), Ohio State (23), USC (10), Washington (7) and Iowa (6).
