Junior running back Jordan Howard declared for the 2016 NFL Draft earlier today, making it likely that Indiana will have a running back drafted for the second year in a row. The transfer from UAB finished his brief IU career with 196 carries for 1,213 yards and nine touchdowns. Due to injury woes, Howard only saw the field in nine games, and only played in six full games.
Various sites have given Howard a 3rd round draft grade, the same round in which Tevin Coleman was drafted last year. Howard is one of the most talented backs in the draft, but there are still lingering doubts from scouts due to his inability to stay healthy throughout last season (which, fair or not, raises questions about his durability).
