Indiana Falls on the Road to No. 25 Michigan State, 31-24

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Indiana Football fell to No. 25 Michigan State on the road Saturday at Spartan Stadium, 40-31. The Hoosiers tied the game at 31-31 with two minutes remaining before the Spartans pulled away for the victory.

Redshirt freshman Michael Penix Jr. was 33-of-42 for 286 yards and a pair of touchdowns while setting the IU single-season record with 20-straight completions. Penix also rushed for one touchdown.

Junior Whop Philyor caught a pair of touchdowns, including an 11-yard reception to tie the game at 31-31.

Michigan State scored the go-ahead field goal with five seconds remaining before adding a safety as time expired.
