Indiana Blanks Rutgers, 35-0, on Bicentennial Homecoming

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana football team (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) shutout the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-4, 0-3 Big Ten) in a 35-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. The game marked Indiana University's Bicentennial Homecoming.

The IU defense recorded a shutout for the second time this season after blanking Eastern Illinois 52-0 on Sept. 7.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Michael Penix Jr. completed 20-of-29 passes for 282 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the victory. Junior wide receiver Whop Philyor collected 10 catches for 182 yards for the Hoosiers.
