Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers add preferred walk-on to 2019 class

Over the weekend, Archie Miller and the Indiana basketball program grew their 2019 recruiting class by one, when Nathan Childress accepted a preferred walk-on spot.

The 2019 prospect was committed to Bethel College before re-opening his recruitment a couple of weeks ago after a coaching change.

Childress missed most all of July due to a few injuries, missing the AAU evaluation period, but did hear from Valparaiso, Davidson, Idaho, Penn, WKU, and Bucknell.

A pretty athletic wing, he averaged 14.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game as a senior. Though he didn’t attempt a lot of three’s, only 59 attempts, he connected on 36 percent of them, having the potential to become a consistent shooter on the wing.
