Hoosiers know who they’ll be playing in Year 1 under Woodson

It’ll likely be three more months before we know how Indiana’s complete 2021-22 schedule looks, but on Thursday we at least got a peek at which conference teams the Hoosiers will draw for single plays and home-and-home series.

And at first glance things look ... fine (?) for Mike Woodson’s crew.

IU will see Illinois, Michigan and Rutgers only once at home, and face Iowa, Michigan State and Northwestern only once on the road. In the two-play category, IU will have multiple matchups against Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and built-in rival Purdue.

We’ll know the order in which these contests fall when the full slate of games is unveiled at the end of the summer — and that’s usually the better tell as far as how favorable a schedule is or is not.
