Hoosier Hits: Indiana rises in the 2026 football recruiting class rankings

Indiana football’s recruiting class of 2026 continues to rise up the national rankings.

4-star edge rusher Ronelle Johnson’s commitment has the Hoosiers on the precipice of the top-25 in both 247Sports and On3’s rankings, which both have Indiana at 26th nationally as of Sunday afternoon.

That’s a strong performance nationally and would be among Indiana’s highest-ranked classes in recent years. The class of 2022 finished at 25th nationally, but was substantially buoyed by Dasan McCollough, son of former running backs coach Deland McCullough.

But being in the Big Ten, one of the sport’s two major conferences, means stiff competition for intra-conference recruiting rankings.
