Grothe Takes Third at U.S. Open, Three More Hoosiers in Top 20

ATLANTA – Four current and former Indiana men's swimmers competed in the opening night of the 2019 Toyota U.S. Open Championships at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center on Wednesday evening.

9. Michael Brinegar – 7:59.37

NOTABLES
• Grothe easily cruised to the wall under the US Olympic Trial cut time of 8:12.99 in the 800 freestyle. He and Brinegar, a redshirt for the Hoosiers this season, were two of the nine swimmers to clear the eight-minute mark in the event.
