Glass in email to student-athletes: No loss of scholarship if you choose not to participate due to COVID-19 concerns

Outgoing IU athletic director Fred Glass sent an email on Tuesday afternoon to student-athletes with several updates on their return to campus.

The email, which was made public by IU, reemphasized that participating in activities is voluntary and also explicitly stated that not participating in athletics due to COVID-19 concerns will not result in a loss of scholarship.

As we trust you already know through your coaches and otherwise, earlier this month we released the Indiana University Athletics Medical Group Phase One Restart Plan to govern when and how you may return to campus for voluntary activities.
