ATLANTA – From the platform to the podium, Indiana sophomore diver Tarrin Gilliland is the NCAA National Champion in the Platform dive for the second straight year.
Gilliland scored 372.95 on her five dives, earning north of 70 points on four of those attempts. She put an exclamation mark on her performance with back-to-back scores of 80 for her final two dives. Gilliland finished 27 points higher than the runner-up.
"There [were] a lot of nerves going into it," Gilliland told ESPN after her performance. "I know last year I was really injured and just trying to get off the 10-meter, but it was so much fun to be happy and healthy and [to] dive.
