A once-heralded recruit appears to be on his way out of Bloomington.
Freshman receiver Rashawn Williams has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal, he announced in a message posted to Twitter on Monday evening. Williams, who did not see any action this season, was the highest-ranked recruit in Indiana program history when he made his verbal commitment to the Hoosiers in April 2019.
“First I want to take the time to thank the coaching staff at IU for the opportunity and I am forever grateful,” Williams wrote. “After careful consideration with my family we came to the conclusion that it’s best if I enter my name into the transfer portal.
