Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza has been added to another preseason watch list. Mendoza has been named a preseason pick for the Wuerrfel Trophy watch list. It’s the third watch list he has appeared on this summer.
The Wuerffel Trophy recognizes college football players who exemplify community service, academic excellence and athletic achievement. Mendoza was also named to the AFCA Good Works Team and he’s on the Maxwell Award watch list.
Mendoza spent two seasons as the starting quarterback at Cal, where he completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 4,712 yards, 30 TDs and 16 picks in 20 games.
