Apple, Pieroni Claim Gold on Sunday Night

TOKYO – Four Hoosiers entered the waters in the opening days of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. Former Hoosier All-Americans Zach Apple and Blake Pieroni secured gold for the United States in the 400m Freestyle Relay on Sunday night, while Lilly King punched her ticket into the final of the 100m Breaststroke.

The Hoosiers have now won 57 gold medals at the Olympics. IU athletes have also produced 17 silvers and 32 bronze medals.
