Indiana Basketball Is Back!

Indiana Hoosiers basketball is BACK!

The Hoosiers ended the 2011-12 season highly ranked and expected to re-join the elite programs of college basketball. An early Top-25 poll by numerous media outlets and analysis ranked the team No. 1 in the country.

Some of the team's preseason accolades were attributable to the five-man recruiting class in 2012 consisting of Yogi Ferrell, Hanner Perea, Jeremy Hollowell, Peter Jurkin, and Ron Patterson. The group has been called "The Movement".

Coach Tom Crean leads the Hoosiers in his 5th season at the school after a successful 6 year run at Marquette. Crean's basketball philosophy emphasizes fast breaks and defensive pressure. On offense he has a reputation for the magnitude of his offensive sets and their multitude of options, with one opposing coach estimating about 400 different sets run.[23] Shot selection is extremely important, with a focus on spacing, inside-out attacks, penetration and kick.

On the court Crean is known to walk the sidelines with an intensity normally reserved for football coaches.[16] For inspiration, Crean has a library filled with biographies of coaches and business executives, with favorites being Jim Collins' management guide "Good to Great" and the story of Bill Belichick's rise in New England, "Patriot Reign"

If you’re a fan of the Hoosiers, here are a few ways on how you can show your support.

1.   Wearing the kit

If you’re a die-hardfan, you would know the amount of pride you’re going to get by wearing the red kit/jersey of Indiana Hoosiers. The most common apparel you can wear is the t-shirt, with the official logo displayed. There are many different t-shirts available at the official online college store of the team. You can also go for other types of clothing such as shorts, pants etc.

2.   Singing the traditional songs

Fans always seem to sing songs to cheer on their team. Traditional songs would be your best pick at the game. You can sing Indiana Fight, Hail to Old IU, Indiana, Our Indiana or any other song that you like. Cheering the team on this way will help the players rise to the occasion. You should keep the support top notch even if the team is performing poorly in situations in the game.

3.   Megaphones, Thundersticks and Foam #1 hands

These are some of the things you can take along to cheer on the team. The noise that comes from megaphones is quite loud, and can’t be easily ignored. Thundersticks can be banged together to make a sound as well. Foam #1 hands are common in such games. However, you need to be careful as megaphones and thundersticks can make the people sitting near you uncomfortable or annoyed.

These are some of the ways you can cheer on the Cream and Crimson when you go to watch them play. To make sure that you get a good spot at the game in the stands, Indiana Hoosiers basketball tickets can be bought in advance.

The #1 rankled Hoosiers have begun the season and are set to make a quest for an NCAA title. You can make opponents jealous of the passion for Hoosier sports by representing the team passionately in in the stands by cheering them on.
