NORMAL, Ill. – Behind a career-high-tying 13 kills from sophomore Ruth Ziegler – on just 16 total swings – the Illinois State volleyball team swept past the Murray State Racers on Friday night by scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-17. Ziegler's attack percentage of .750 is the 18th-best in the NCAA this season among players with 15-19 attack attempts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set (25-16): The first set opened back and forth with three tie scores and one lead change, which happened after Murray State led 5-3 before ISU ran off four consecutive points, two on combo blocks from Ziegler and Khenedi Guest, and another on a Ziegler kill.
