NORMAL, Ill. – Behind a two-over par effort from senior Becca Black, the Illinois State Redbirds placed eighth at its home Redbird Invitational on Monday with a three-round score of 899.
The Redbirds got their 899 with rounds of 292, 301, and 306, and finished just eight strokes out of third place in the field. Xavier took home the team title at the tournament with a three-round score of 885, which is the second-lowest team score in the history of the Invitational. In all, each of the top five scores for the tournament now stand among the 10 lowest team totals in tournament history for 54 holes.
