NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team (3-6) completed final exams last week and returns to the court Tuesday evening when the Redbirds head west to Macomb, Illinois, to take on high-scoring Western Illinois (9-3), with tipoff slated for 7 p.m. inside Western Hall.
THE SERIES:
Illinois State and Western Illinois are meeting for the 44th time in series history, with the Redbirds holding a commanding 40-3 advantage, including a 15-1 record in Macomb. WIU did win last season in Redbird Arena, 79-64.
THE COACHES:
Illinois State: Barb Smith (Ohio State, 1986) is in her fourth season as the head coach at Illinois State and has the Redbirds off to their best start in her four seasons as the Redbird head coach.
