NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team (1-1) will host Valparaiso (1-1) in the 2016-17 home opener on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena Saturday afternoon, with tipoff slated for 1 p.m.

Illinois State and Valparaiso are meeting for the fourth time in program history and the first time in nearly 16 years, with the Redbirds holding a 2-1 lead dating back to Jan. 10, 1980, which was an 84-35 victory at Central Missouri State's Jennies Classic in Warrensburg, Missouri. Cathy Boswell pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds in the triumph.
