CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Illinois State gymnastics team traveled to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Friday night to face their first Midwest Independent Conference foe of the 2018 season in Southeast Missouri State. The Redbirds received first-place finishes from Gabrielle Cooke and Alyssa Wiggle, however the Redhawks came out on top in the meet with a score of 193.300-191.175 inside Houck Field House.
Cooke put together strong routines throughout the meet and finished in second overall in the all-around with a score of 38.400. The sophomore standout tied for first on the beam with a score of 9.
