ST. LOUIS – Bradley freshman guard Caroline Waite (Ames, IA/Ames HS) is the first Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week of the 2021-22 season, according the announcement of the league's weekly awards Monday afternoon.
Making her official college debut against a Wright State squad that reached the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament, Waite led the Braves (1-0) to their most-lopsided season-opening win in 35 years by scoring a game-high 23 points, while adding five assists and three rebounds in Bradley's 84-65 win Tuesday night at Renaissance Coliseum.
