ST. LOUIS – Illinois State volleyball student-athlete Lexi Varga has been tabbed the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announce Monday. This honor is the first of its kind for the senior.
"Lexi (Varga) was extremely sharp, focused and determined for us this weekend," head coach Leah Johnson commented. "She is playing her best volleyball of the season right now, and has earned every bit of this honor."
Varga reached double-digit kills in both of Illinois State's wins this weekend over Drake and previously-ranked UNI. She tallied a team-high 27 kills on the weekend, averaging 3.
