ST. LOUIS – Following a near-record-setting performance at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, Illinois State senior Valentin Peugnet has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week.
Peugnet's performance – in which he earned medalist honors at the tournament – also helped lead the Redbirds to a share of the team title.
The Volmerange-Les-Mines, France, product, shot a three-round 203, which is the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history, behind only the 202 carded by David Perkins at the Bearcat Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 2019. He shot rounds of 72, 66, and 65 for the tournament (-13), the third round serving as the fourth-lowest round by an ISU golfer since 2000.
