NEW ORLEANS — Tulane extended the Illinois State baseball team's losing streak to eight games Saturday with 3-2 and 9-3 victories at Turchin Stadium.
The Green Wave needed 12 innings to win the opener as Stephan Alemais singled home Richard Carthon with the winning run and improved to 17-7 with the sweep.
ISU starter Steve Heilenbach allowed two runs over seven innings of the opener before Rhett Rapshus provided three hitless innings of relief. Jack Landwehr took the loss.
Tyler Paulsen doubled twice for the Redbirds. Paulsen and Sean Beesley drove in the Redbird runs.
In the nightcap, Owen Miller's two-run double handed ISU a 2-0 lead in the third, but Tulane tied it in the bottom of the inning.
