NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Director of Athletics Larry Lyons has announced the hiring of Tom Szymoniak as the new head golf professional at the Weibring Golf Club. Szymoniak will begin his duties on January 6 and takes over for longtime head golf professional Laura Provost, who is retiring at the end of the December.
"Tom brings 18-plus years of experience in the golf industry as a head golf professional and in golf operations management," Lyons said. "We have high expectations that he will be a key contributor to the excellent team already in place, as we continue to elevate the experience at the Weibring Golf Club.
