ST. LOUIS – For the sixth time in his career, Illinois State senior golfer TJ Barger has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after his performance at the season-opening Island Resort Intercollegiate.
By earning his sixth MVC Golfer of the Week honor, he jumps into a tie of 20th-most career honors in MVC history, and fifth-most among Illinois State golfers, trailing only David Perkins (15), Trent Wallace (10), Matt Miller (9), and Valentin Peugnet (7).
Barger tied for eighth in the deep field at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, behind rounds of 71, 66, and 68 on the par-72 course.
