NORMAL, Ill. – The Terre Haute Rex are just one game out of first place in the Prospect League West Division's standings, and Illinois State rising junior Jeffrey Barton is a big reason why.
Barton, a right-hander who has pitched for Illinois State the past two seasons, is 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 34 strikeouts over 48 innings of work this summer for Terre Haute. Barton has been particularly good of late, going eight innings in each of his past two starts, while limiting his opponent to just one run in each outing.
